Forced changes in El Niño–Southern Oscillation due to global warming and the associated uncertainties in ACCESS-ESM1.5 large ensembles

چکیده
Understanding the forced response of El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) to future global warming (GW) is important for reliable climate projections; however, many aspects this are yet be fully understood. Here, we use two large ensembles CMIP6 historical and SSP3-7.0 experiments (each with 40 ensemble members), performed ACCESS-ESM1.5, investigate combined greenhouse gas (GHG) aerosol changes in selected ENSO properties. We document ENSO's amplitude, power spectrum, skewness, feedbacks quantify internal variability associated these changes. There a modest but statistically significant GW-induced increase ensemble-mean amplitude sizable variation (due variability) both increases (in 80% members) decreases. To understand mechanism variation, examine role mean state atmosphere-ocean coupling processes Pacific. find that change most sensitive zonal wind forcing change. A gradient sea surface temperatures (SSTs) also plays an change, atmospheric Bjerknes feedback thermocline playing minor role. The implications some caveats findings discussed.

El Nino/Southern Oscillation response to global warming.
The El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon, originating in the Tropical Pacific, is the strongest natural interannual climate signal and has widespread effects on the global climate system and the ecology of the Tropical Pacific. Any strong change in ENSO statistics will therefore have serious climatic and ecological consequences. Most global climate models do simulate ENSO, although la...

why some learners are willing to communicate in english, concurrently others are not, has been an intensive investigation in l2 education. willingness to communicate (wtc) proposed as initiating to communicate while given a choice has recently played a crucial role in l2 learning. it was hypothesized that wtc would be associated with language learning orientations (llos) as well as social suppo...
a frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey
the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...
15 صفحه اولGlobal Warming–Induced Changes in El Niño Teleconnections over the North Pacific and North America
El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) induces climate anomalies around the globe. Atmospheric general circulation model simulations are used to investigate how ENSO-induced teleconnection patterns during boreal winter might change in response to global warming in the Pacific–North American sector. As models disagree on changes in the amplitude and spatial pattern of ENSO in response to global war...
